Prince Harry is about to turn 40 on September 15, and a special gift awaits him. Thanks to an arrangement made by Queen Elizabeth, he is set to receive a significant birthday present—an inheritance worth around $8.5 million dollars.
The late Queen Mother established a $90 million trust fund for the royal family, with the condition that Harry would receive his portion when he reached the age of 40.
However, according to sources reported by Closer, Prince William and Princess Kate don’t believe Harry deserves the money. They are, in fact, quite displeased with the idea. “William is pretty disgusted that once again Harry is going to be cashing out and taking millions back to his Montecito home without lifting a finger for it,” an insider revealed.
While William may not have control over the situation, he certainly has strong feelings about it. “There’s nothing he can do about it, aside from shaking his head, but if it were up to him, Harry would not be getting this payday,” the source added.
The source goes on to explain that William firmly believes his brother is not worthy of such a substantial handout. The way Harry has treated the family has left a bitter taste in William’s mouth. “William doesn’t think his brother is in any position to be getting this handout, and he’s letting it be known that he thinks it’s a pretty rotten situation,” the source continued.
It’s clear that trust between William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan is at an all-time low. The idea that Harry is now benefitting from his great-grandmother’s inheritance only intensifies the bitterness felt by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “William and Kate don’t trust Harry or Meghan one bit, so the idea that Harry’s now cashing in on his great-granny’s inheritance leaves a very bitter taste in their mouths,” the source concluded.
According to the mirror, Prince Harry is set to receive a larger portion of the trust than Prince William. While William will benefit from the vast wealth of the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that funds the public, charitable, and private activities of the King’s heir, Harry is likely to receive slightly more than half of the £14 million allocated for the brothers.
It’s important to note that Harry will have to pay taxes on this inheritance. Currently, Harry and Meghan’s combined net worth is estimated at around $60 million.
As Prince Harry celebrates his 40th birthday, the controversial topic of his inheritance not only ignites conflict within the royal family but also raises questions about deserving wealth and the trustworthiness of family members.
