INGREDIENTS: 3 pound oxtails

1 sliced medium yellow onion

2 tablespoons of my own BBQ rub/seasoning OR 2 tablespoons of your favorite store-bought BBQ seasoning

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cups barbecue sauce

a specific quantity of liquid smoke I used little more than 1 tbsp.

3 cups broth (beef, chicken, or water)

DIRECTIONS
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oxtails and onions, then sprinkle the oil over the oxtails.

Make sure everything is well covered with oil before sprinkling the BBQ seasoning all over the oxtails.

Put the oxtails and onions in a large pot and cook over medium-high heat.

Brown the oxtails and onions in a skillet, then transfer them to a slow cooker.

Return to the pot where you browned the oxtails and add the chicken broth OR water.

After that, add the barbecue sauce and liquid smoke.

Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Place the slow cooker lid on and pour the barbecue sauce over the oxtails.

Cook for 6 hours on LOW.

Serve with your preferred sides.

Enjoy!
