Here’s how to make Paula Deen’s Banana Pudding:
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 cup) packet instant vanilla pudding mix – 1 (12 cup) cold water
- 2 cups whipped heavy cream
- 1 vanilla wafer box
- 4 to 5 sliced ripe bananas
- Combine the sweetened condensed milk and water in a large mixing basin. Whisk until well combined.
- Pour in the instant vanilla pudding mix and stir for about 2 minutes, or until the pudding thickens.
- Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 5 minutes to allow the pudding mixture to chill.
Meanwhile, whisk the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. - Remove the pudding mixture from the refrigerator and gently fold in the whipped cream until thoroughly mixed.
- Begin arranging the ingredients in a trifle dish or big serving bowl. Start with a layer of vanilla wafers, then a layer of sliced bananas, and finally a layer of the pudding mixture. Continue layering until all of the ingredients have been utilized, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
- For extra texture, crumble a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle them on top if preferred.
- Refrigerate the dish for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before serving to allow the flavors to mingle and the wafers to soften.
Paula Deen’s banana pudding is excellent!
