Ingredients
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) melted butter plus more softened butter for pan
3 cup rolled oats (about 12 oz.)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus additional for dusting
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
two huge eggs
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup honey, plus additional for dripping
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
2 small tart apples (about 12 oz. ; such as Granny Smith), cored, skinned, and diced (approximately 1 3/4 c.)
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Yogurt, plain, for serving

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Softened butter should be used to grease a 13″x9″ or 3-quart baking dish.
Step 2 Whisk together the oats, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a large mixing dish.
Step 3 Whisk together the eggs, milk, honey, vanilla, and melted butter in a medium mixing dish. Mix in the wet ingredients until barely mixed. Mix in the apples and walnuts. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
Step 4 Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the oatmeal is just set and golden brown and the apples are soft. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes. Serve warm with yogurt and a dab of honey and cinnamon.
