Celebrating the Holidays

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Our Christmas was truly magical, especially with our 2 and 4-year-olds. Being Santa for our kids brought us so much joy, and spending time with family and friends made it even more special. Of course, we also indulged in plenty of delicious food!

The True Meaning of Christmas

While we enjoyed the festivities, we also made sure to teach our kids the true meaning of Christmas. We emphasized the importance of giving to others and serving those in need. By prioritizing acts of kindness, we showed them that the best part of Christmas is not about receiving gifts, but about spreading love and joy.

Planning for the New Year

As we start making plans for our New Year’s celebration, I wanted to share this amazing recipe with you. Originally, I intended to share the Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Bread later this month, but my husband couldn’t resist having it as part of our feast this past weekend. So, why not share it with you too?

Easy and Delicious

This Buffalo Chicken Garbage Bread couldn’t be easier to make. Simply mix the buffalo chicken filling ingredients together (you can even use rotisserie chicken for convenience) and spoon it inside a hollowed-out loaf of French bread. Bake until it’s warm and bubbly, then cut into slices to serve or use extra chunks of bread or veggies for dipping.

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 pizza dough (preferably store-bought)
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese (part-skim)
  • 3 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Franks Wing Sauce
  • 1/3 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Cut the chicken into cubes and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a teaspoon of olive oil in a skillet and add the chicken when hot.
  4. Cook the chicken completely, then add 1/4 cup of wing sauce.
  5. Stir to coat the chicken and let it simmer for a minute or two.
  6. Remove the chicken from heat and let it cool.
  7. On a well-floured surface, spread the pizza dough into a long rectangle shape.
  8. Spread ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing (depending on your preference) and the remaining 1/4 cup of wing sauce across the dough.
  9. Add the cooked chicken to the dough, then top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  10. If desired, drizzle additional wing sauce on top for extra spiciness.
  11. Roll the dough like a pinwheel until you reach the end, making sure to tuck the ends in to prevent any fillings from oozing out during baking.
  12. Spray a baking sheet with a light coat of non-stick cooking spray.
  13. Place the garbage bread on the pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  14. Allow it to sit for five minutes, then cut into slices and enjoy!

Note: Some people have found that the bread cooks too quickly and the inside remains raw. To ensure even cooking, place the rack in the middle of the oven. If necessary, you can lower the temperature to 400 degrees and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
