I recently had the pleasure of teaching a cooking class for the youth in our church. During the class, I shared a simple tip with them: if you can brown beef, you can make so many delicious meals. And today, I want to share with you one of those meals – Italian Crescent Casserole.

This dish is incredibly easy to make, and it’s sure to satisfy everyone at your dinner table. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup of Three Cheese Pasta Sauce (I personally prefer this one for its rich flavor)
  • 1 can (8 oz) of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1½ cups of shredded Italian cheese blend (6 oz)
  • ¼ teaspoon of dried basil leaves

Now, let’s get cooking!

How To Make Italian Crescent Casserole:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a skillet, mix the cooked ground beef and pasta sauce. Heat the mixture until it comes to a boil over medium-high heat. Remember to give it a good stir every now and then.
  3. While the beef and sauce are heating, separate the crescent dinner rolls into eight triangles. Place the triangles in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate, arranging them in a spoke pattern, with the narrow tips overlapping the rim of the plate by about 3 inches. Press the dough into the sides and bottom of the plate to form a crust, and sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded Italian cheese blend over the dough.
  4. Once the beef and sauce mixture is heated through, spoon it evenly over the cheese in the pie plate.
  5. Bring the tips of the dough over the filling to meet in the center, without overlapping them. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded Italian cheese blend and the dried basil leaves over the top.
  6. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to settle and the casserole to set.

And there you have it – a delicious and hearty Italian Crescent Casserole that’s perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re cooking for a family gathering or simply want a comforting meal for yourself, this recipe is a winner.

Enjoy your meal!
