Salisbury Steak has a long history of being a cheap dish that nonetheless feels luxurious. (Not to mention really soothing!) It’s a simple enough stovetop dish to prepare, but the crockpot makes things even simpler. This is true of this Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak.
INGREDIENTS
2 pound lean ground beef
1 pound breadcrumbs
a quarter cup milk
1 (1 ounce) onion soup mix packet
a half teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 sliced white onion (10 oz each) cream of chicken soup in cans
1 (1 ounce) packet au jus mix 3/4 cup water

Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion soup mix, and dried thyme in a large mixing basin. Combine all ingredients and shape into 8 patties.
In the bottom of a slow cooker, layer sliced onion.
