I hesitate to call this a recipe because it is so basic. See, it’s simply three ingredients (four if you want a little oomph) cooked up together into one amazing combo. Instead, consider it a suggestion for what to offer at your next gathering…

There isn’t much more to do here than slice up some kielbasa, but the end result is so good that you’d do everything to have that flavor. The kielbasa bites are cooked in a sticky-sweet sauce that complements their smokiness well. They’re the perfect poppable snack or appetizer, and they couldn’t be simpler.

Sliced kielbasa is placed in the slow cooker (there are stovetop instructions below if you prefer!) along with some brown sugar and cola, until everything is coated in caramelized deliciousness. You can add a pinch of chili powder for a mild heat, but its main purpose is to complement the smokiness of the kielbasa.

If you’re serving them to company, they’ll take three hours on high in the slow cooker, giving you plenty of time to get the rest of your affairs in order. All you have to do is stop by every now and then and stir them. They can also stay in the slow cooker to keep warm and from becoming too sticky as they cool.

Consider these to be an enhanced cocktail weenie. They feature the same tempting sweet and smokey flavor profile, but they’re a touch more fancy and unexpected. They’d make themselves if they were any easier to make… The only issue you’ll have is getting your visitors away from the bowl.
