Lasagnas are often salty and cooked with tomato sauce and minced meat. This recipe features a sweet version of lasagna. It’s called ‘lasagna’ because it’s made in layers. This traditional American delicacy consists of three layers of cinnamon buns and two layers of caramel apple filling. We decorate it using the frosting that comes with the cinnamon roll dough. This lasagna with caramel apple cinnamon bun is soft, moist, and saucy. Furthermore, no one can dispute that the combination of cinnamon and apple is delectable. This gets tempting when topped with caramel sauce. I am confident that you will not be able to stop eating it and will return for more. I am highly skeptical that you will have any leftovers.

INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Spray your ceramic/glass 8x8x2-inch dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, corn starch, and nutmeg.
Slice the cinnamon buns into 14-inch slices and spread them thinly on a floured surface. (Dust the top of the dough with flour to prevent it from sticking).
Cover the bottom and edges of the prepared dish with the flattened cinnamon bun. To seal the rolls, use your hands.
Half of the apple filling should be spread over the flattened dough.
Top with 2 to 3 tablespoons caramel sauce.
Cover it with additional flattened cinnamon roll dough.
Spread the remaining apple filling equally and drizzle with 2 to 3 tbsp. caramel sauce.
Cover with the remaining cinnamon roll dough.
Place the casserole in the oven for 30 minutes, covered with aluminum foil.
Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes. The top should be a golden brown color.
Remove from the oven and set aside for at least 30 minutes to cool.
Drizzle with the cinnamon roll icing that comes with it.

Notes:

Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples can be used.
You can substitute a 7x9x2 inch ceramic dish for the 8x8x2-inch dish.
