1 onion, diced

1 bell pepper, diced

1 pound Ground beef, lean

1 tsp garlic, freshly minced

2 ½ tsp Chili Powder

½ tsp dry mustard

1 tsp salt

½ tsp ground black pepper

½ cup uncooked long grain rice

2 tbsp Tomato paste

14.5 ounce can of Diced tomatoes with juice

1 cup water

1 ½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce

Cheddar Cheese or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded (optional)

How to make Texas Hash FIRST STEP:

Heat a skillet with Olive Oil over medium high heat

Add the onions, peppers, garlic, ground beef, dry mustard, chili powder, salt and pepperSaute until the beef is browned and cooked through.

The vegetables should be soft also

Add in the rice and tomato paste and cook for three minutes
