Since I was a youngster, these small smokies wrapped in bacon have been one of my favorite snacks! Smoked sausages wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with sticky brown sugar. A simple party recipe!

Recipe for Bacon-Wrapped Little Smokies
When my mother originally handed me the recipe, it was nothing more than a few scribbled instructions on a scrap of paper.

These irresistible appetizers include only three ingredients, but the first time I prepared them on my own, they didn’t taste as good as hers always do.

So I went back and asked for her secrets, which I’m sharing with you for the BEST bacon wrapped mini smokies with brown sugar you’ve ever had!

Begin by chopping the bacon into thirds. The strips will never crisp up if you leave them any longer.

There may be a few bacon pieces left behind. That’s fine!

Cook it and save it for a morning omelet or another snack like Bacon Goat Cheese Log or Jalapeo Cream Cheese Dip.

How to Make Brown Sugar Little Smokies
Wrap one piece of bacon around one smokie and lay it in the pan. There’s no need to secure it with a toothpick; simply set it seam down.

The pan you use has a significant impact. When I asked my mother how she accomplished it, she replied she used a glass baking dish rather of a foil-lined baking sheet.

She cleans up by filling the pan with hot tap water and letting it sit for a few minutes. The caramelized sugar disintegrates.
