What exactly is Heaven on Earth Cake?
Have you made my Angel Food Cake yet? After baking that cake a few weeks ago, I couldn’t help but expand on it for this angel food cake dessert.

You’ll understand why I call it “Heaven on Earth” cake once you try it! This cold exquisite dessert is a combination of cherry pie, cake, and pudding and is totally delectable.

Consider a wonderful trifle.

Angel food cake in a pan covered with vanilla pudding cream, cherry pie filling, and cool whip
Heaven on Earth cake is similar to bread pudding but requires no baking!
1 Angel Food Cake made
1 packet Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix 3.4 ounce
12 cup milk
1 cup sour cream or greek yogurt
12 tsp almond extract
1 can (20 oz.) cherry pie filling
1 8-ounce container Cool Whip
1 tbsp toasted almond slices (optional)

Cube the angel food cake. Place aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the pudding mix, milk, sour cream, and almond essence. Place aside.
Half of the cake cubes should be placed in the bottom of a 13×9 baking dish. 3/4 of the cherry pie filling should be poured over the cake.
Layer the cake again. Spread the pudding evenly over the top of the cake.
Spread the Cool Whip on top of the pudding layer. Top with the remaining pie filling.
Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, sprinkle with almonds.
