Ingredients:

Crust:

7 tbsp unsweetened butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (equivalent to 9 whole crackers)
three tbsp granulated sugar
Filling with Cream:

8 ounces room temperature cream cheese
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence, pure
8 oz. container cold whip
Topping:

21 ounces canned cherry pie filling

To begin, melt the butter in a medium-sized mixing dish. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until completely melted.
To the melted butter, add the graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Blend thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into an 8-inch baking dish that has been lightly coated with nonstick spray. Firmly press down to achieve a uniform crust. Set this aside for a moment.
To make the Creamy Filling:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until it is smooth and lump-free.
Incorporate the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, thoroughly blending them in.
Fold in the cool whip, combining it with the cream cheese. Remember to mix gently; overbeating might cause the fluffy texture to disappear.
Spread this filling evenly over your prepared crust. To ensure an equal layer, use a flat spatula or the back of a spoon.
For the icing:

Scoop out the cherry pie filling and spread it evenly over the creamy layer, covering the entire surface.

Put the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Allow it to set overnight for best effects.

Refrigerate any remaining slices.

Jody’s Tip: “If you’re having trouble getting the delight out of the pan, here’s a trick.” Fill your sink halfway with hot water, just enough to cover the pan’s base and a small portion of the sides. Immerse the pan momentarily, no more than a minute. This softens the crust and makes it easier to remove. Make sure the water is scalding.”

Serve and enjoy each cherry-layered bite!
