John Wines, a 59-year-old guitar teacher from Dorset, has taken the stage on America’s Got Talent, impressing the judges and earning a spot in the live shows. His extraordinary journey serves as a true inspiration, not only to his students but also to anyone who aspires to pursue their passion, no matter their age.

Wines, who teaches at The Bourne Academy in Bournemouth, decided to audition for the show to encourage one of his nervous students. His heartfelt motivation led him to perform the iconic Queen anthem, “We Will Rock You,” during his original audition. The performance captivated the attention of Simon Cowell and the other judges.

“I’m overjoyed! I never thought I would have this opportunity,” expressed Wines. “I’m doing things I could never have dreamed of.”

Now, Wines is preparing for the next stage of the competition, which will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Tuesday, August 22nd. With determination and talent, he is ready to give it his all in the live shows.

Wines stumbled upon the America’s Got Talent application after a conversation with one of his 16-year-old students, Maya. Maya was struggling with nerves before an upcoming concert, and Wines wanted to show her that even teachers face their own fears and get nervous at times. Putting himself in her shoes, he decided to take the leap and audition for the show.
