Turkish bread is not only delicious, but it’s also incredibly easy to make. You don’t even have to knead the dough! This recipe will guide you on how to make light and fluffy Turkish bread in no time.

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 pound) flour
  • 150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm milk
  • 150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Chopped parsley
  • Chili flakes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add the warm milk and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until the liquids are absorbed.
  3. Pour in the olive oil and knead the dough until it becomes smooth. This usually takes around 10 minutes.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and coat it with vegetable oil. Let it rest in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Once the dough has risen, divide it into six equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Use a rolling pin to flatten each ball into a flatbread.
  7. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook each flatbread for about 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway through. They should become golden brown and create a pocket in the middle.
  8. Once cooked, spread some oil on each hot flatbread and sprinkle with chopped parsley and chili flakes for added flavor.
