While chocolate and vanilla are probably the most iconic flavors, there are occasions when you desire something different. Sometimes you want something a little different, something a little nutty, a little sweet AND salty… Something along the lines of this Peanut Butter Frosting. Imagine peanut butter whipped into a lighter, creamier, sweeter combination.

While chocolate and vanilla are probably the most iconic flavors, there are occasions when you desire something different. Sometimes you want something a little different, something a little nutty, a little sweet AND salty… Something along the lines of this Peanut Butter Frosting. Imagine peanut butter whipped into a lighter, creamier, and sweeter combination, and you’ll get the idea. This thing is fantastic, and not just peanut butter fans will think so.

This is my favorite way to consume it: on a chocolate cupcake. It tastes like a peanut butter cup in cake shape, and you will never persuade me that that isn’t the best sweet ever. That’s because this frosting truly tastes like peanut butter — it’s not a hazy hint of peanut butter or a mere suggestion of peanut butter – it’s plain and simple peanut butter. But creamier, lighter, and sweeter, so that consuming a substantial portion of it is not overpowering.

INGREDIENTS
6 tablespoons room temperature unsalted butter
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1.5 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup room temperature heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence, pure
a quarter teaspoon of salt
PREPARATION
Beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed in a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer until creamy, about 2 minutes.
Continue mixing on low until the peanut butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt are combined. After mixing, increase the speed to high and beat for 3 minutes.
To achieve a thinner or thicker consistency, add additional powdered sugar or cream. Enjoy!
