So, I was at our local IGA yesterday—I adore this store—and came upon the old-fashioned candy I remember from my childhood. I never loved the taste, but I really enjoyed the smell, so I bought some. To me, they smell like Christmas.
She told me this recipe as I was chatting to the cashier. I have yet to try it, but it looks simple and delicious, plus it adds a holiday touch to the plain old predecessor to gummy bears. Please let me know if you try it.

Candies with orange slices
granulated sugar
chopped or ground pecans

DIRECTIONS:

Microwave candy in a microwave-safe bowl until soft.
In my microwave, twenty seconds is adequate.
Place the candy immediately between slices of plastic wrap, waxed paper, or parchment paper and roll out until flat.
Dip in powdered sugar, followed by pecans.

Allow to cool before serving.
