In a recent interview on “Good Morning America,” Pat Sajak, the beloved host of “Wheel of Fortune,” opened up about his recent health scare and how he thought he was on the verge of death. Just a month after undergoing emergency surgery for a blocked bowel, Sajak shared the harrowing details of his experience.

It all started in November when Sajak was out for a morning stroll with his daughter and suddenly began experiencing excruciating pain. Hours later, he found himself doubled over in agony, about to go into surgery. “I was lying on the bed in the fetal position,” he recalled. Despite the doctors’ efforts to alleviate his pain with various medications, nothing seemed to work.

Then, a ray of hope appeared when Sajak’s physicians administered a medicine that miraculously took away his pain. “All of a sudden, I wasn’t thinking about the discomfort,” he explained. “I just got these amazing pastels and faces flowing out of it.” He also mentioned how he could hear his wife and daughter chatting in the background, although they seemed far away. At that moment, Sajak feared that he was facing imminent death and worried about how his family would cope with the aftermath.

Luckily, Sajak’s fears were unfounded, and the surgery was a success. Reflecting on the ordeal, he chuckled, “It turns out that I was merely high.” The procedure went smoothly, and doctors found no underlying cause for the intestinal blockage, assuring Sajak that he doesn’t need to make any significant lifestyle changes.

Feeling fantastic and back to his normal routine, Sajak expressed gratitude for his recovery. “I’ve been back in the studio, doing shows,” he shared. “Even after spinning the wheel, nothing popped. So I believe that is OK.” During his recovery, Sajak’s long-term co-host, Vanna White, stepped in to host the show, and Sajak playfully admitted that he’s a bit nervous that she might take over his role permanently because she seemed to enjoy it so much.

Despite his lightheartedness, Sajak remains vigilant and focused on his hosting duties. The dedicated game show host is back on his feet, bringing joy to millions of viewers with his infectious energy and enthusiasm.
