I’ve made a lot of cracker candy over the years and can firmly say that it’s always a good idea. This material vanishes moments after you set it out, and beginners want to know how it’s manufactured. The recipe variation I have for you today is very similar to

(2) INGREDIENTS 8.8 oz. containers Ritz Crackers with Peanut Butter
1 1/2 pound butter
1 pound brown sugar
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter, for garnish
14 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Set aside an even layer of cracker bits around the perimeter of the baking sheet.
Bring sugar and butter to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat. After 3-4 minutes, immediately pour the mixture over the prepared crackers.
Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling.
Allow the sheet to cool for a few minutes while the chocolate melts.
Melt chocolate and 1 tablespoon butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl in 30 second increments until completely melted.
Pour the chocolate over the crackers and smooth it out evenly. If desired, garnish with chopped peanuts.
Allow sweets to cool completely before breaking or cutting into pieces (cooling can be accelerated in the refrigerator).
Keep it in an airtight container.
