One of the simplest pies to make, I believe it originated when ladies did not have refrigerators or ice boxes to keep their milk cold, thus a lot of it probably clabbered. So they used this milk to make pie.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup of sugar 2 big eggs
3 tablespoons flour pinch of salt
1 pound melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon nutmeg

DIRECTIONS: Preheat the oven to 400°. Combine all of the ingredients and pour into an unbaked 9-inch pieshell. Lightly sprinkle the top with nutmeg. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F and bake for 45 minutes. Allow to cool to allow the filling to set.
