Oven-fried potatoes and onions are a delicious and simple side dish. Here’s a simple recipe to get you started:
4 large potatoes, 1 large onion, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper – Optional fresh herbs (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
- Peel and chop the potatoes into wedges or thick slices. Put them in a large mixing dish.
- Peel and cut the onion into thick rings or wedges. Combine the onion slices with the potatoes in a mixing basin.
- Combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small mixing dish. This mixture should be poured over the potatoes and onions. Toss everything together until the potatoes and onions are uniformly seasoned.
- Place the potatoes and onions on a baking sheet that has been coated with parchment paper or lightly sprayed with olive oil. Spread them out in a single layer, taking care not to overcrowd them.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy, on a baking sheet in a preheated oven. To ensure equal browning, flip the potatoes one or twice during baking.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and set aside for a few minutes to allow the potatoes and onions to cool. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs such as parsley or chives.
Your oven-fried potatoes and onions are now finished and ready to serve as a delightful side dish. Serve them with your favorite main course or as a tasty accompaniment to any meal.
