Baked Sweet Potatoes in the Oven Haiku: “Happy to be candy-free! Delicious sweet potatoes, I’m happy I came across you! This is a really simple and tasty dish; I cooked mine for a bit longer, stirring often enough to ensure that the sweet potatoes browned evenly.

My fault is that I didn’t chop my onions into wedges as instructed, so they turned a little scorched and shriveled. Other than maybe being a bit too dainty with my onion cuts, I did follow the recipe.

These were amazing, and it was a pleasure that they weren’t covered in sticky sweetness like brown sugar. When I mashed some of the leftovers (without onions) for the infant, she uttered the words “gurgle blurgle/smile” while finishing her portion.

Components:

Components:

Three peeled and cubed sweet potatoes, two tablespoons olive oil, one tablespoon butter, and one tablespoon brown sugar (adjust for desired sweetness)
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg and 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Grinded ginger, pinch of salt, and sea salt to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius, or 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Apply cooking spray to a small baking dish to grease it.

  1. Cut the sweet potatoes into bite-sized cubes after peeling them. In the baking dish, put them.
  2. Melt the butter in a bowl you may put in the microwave. Add the melted butter, olive oil, brown sugar, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt to the sweet potatoes. To taste, add more or less sugar or cinnamon. In order to coat the sweet potatoes uniformly, toss them gently.
  3. Bake the sweet potatoes for 60 minutes, tossing them once or twice to make sure they color evenly.
  4. After cooked, enjoy these delicious sweet potatoes that are baked in the oven. Have fun!
